Climate Resilience through Energy Transformation
HOW TO POWER THE WORLD
A dream: an entire planet powered by renewable energy sources.
You might say it sounds quite idealist dream considering the current and timid 10% share of renewables in the global primary energy mix. However, the abundant source of renewables and the technological development says otherwise - and I stand for it.
The ongoing environmental disruptions due to climate change are reshaping the world and requiring rapid changes as a way towards a resilient energy future. We can no longer afford economic growth overlooking the impacts on the environment we live in.
.
WHO AM I?
I am engineer and project manager (PMP®), MBAs in Management and Business Law and MSc focused on renewables' deployment. I have 11-years’ experience in the infrastructure field, and have found an enormous passion for energy matters (it is what moves everything, isn't it?) while travelling around the globe. Currently, I work with and research about Solar Energy.
I am a renewable energy enthusiastic, and as a science and education-driven person myself I truly believe in the power of education to increase public awareness of global issues such as carbon emissions and their related environmental impacts.
I am interested in energy conversion as a whole: from electricity to farming (yes, what we eat is also stored energy!). Aside from solar and wind energy, I am also interested in land-use and energy efficiency in food systems, solar fuels and hydrogen as long-term means of energy storage, energy policies and regulatory frameworks to enhance energy transition and life cycle assessments as a powerful decision-making tool for an energy transformation.
Technology is developing fast. Thus, policies should keep the pace to pave the way for a fast phase-out of fossil fuels.

WHAT IS MORE?
As a travel lover and keen on discovering new cultures, I have been to more than 80 countries (and counting!) and lived in four continents: South America, Africa, Oceania and Europe. Those were invaluable experiences. As well said by Mark Twain, "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness". Indeed!
Besides being interested in literature, history and politics - particularly related to energy policies, I am also sommelière professional. So I do appreciate wine very much. By the way, I used to write on In Vino Veritas about my tasting experience (written in Portuguese).
"Energy is at the core of climate change, and clearly, it will not be transformed by the same tools which have brought us here. A just & deep transformation is the way forward."
